The Client

BFRS have two separate buildings within Aylesbury. In addition to the Primary Control building, the Service Headquarters are located 1.5 miles away. New office facilities have been created at Service Headquarters to act as a new Secondary Control. The travel time between both sites can now be completed in approximately 5 minutes in the event of a relocation being required. Both locations are networked together via a BT private circuit.


The Koris solution

Identical Mitel 3300 IP Controllers have been installed by Koris, replacing the old analogue systems. New BT ISDN Primary Rate circuits have been supplied at both Aylesbury sites for inbound and outbound telephone calls.

The ISDN circuits are backed up by BT Site Assurance, which allows for inbound calls to be automatically routed to another location in a very short timeframe. On-duty Control staff located at Primary Control can relocate to nearby Secondary Control within minutes, although the need to do so has been greatly reduced with the use of the new VoIP Technology.

Mitel Resilient Licensing allows Control staff to remain in their normal location in the event of BT line fault or on-site hardware failure. Relocation is now only necessary in the event of building related issues or in a disaster recovery scenario.

All equipment supplied by Koris is covered by a 24/7/365 support contract including remote monitoring and on-site attendance within a guaranteed timeframe.
